user interface - MS UI Automation not working on 3rd party ERP app -

i'm trying integrate mvc 2 project 3rd-party win32 .exe erp system. i'm trying field scrape mvc app , push data erp client. mvc front-end more stable , user-friendly erp client. don't know language erp client written in, client-server app runs on unix box, , uses obselete back-end database (pick).

i've used ms ui automation load process of erp client, elements finding standard window elements (title bar, context menu, minimize, maximize, close). client erp loaded text boxes, buttons, pick lists...but ui automation doesn't recognize of them.

can give insight why controls aren't recognized, , how might work around that?

(and more helpful) can recommend open-source, mid-sized erp system?

it quite possible ui controls not have window handles. visual foxpro applications had same issue. custom controls did not use underlying os controls window handles.

i working on building python service. inducing error, not sure inducing it. ps c:\...> python .\file.py debug debugging service myservice - press ctrl+c stop. error 0xc00000f4 - not find service's pythonclass entry in registry error 1814 - specified resource name cannot found in image file. error 0xc0000080 - not locate module name in python class string (ie, no '.') this error coming pythonservicemessages.mc in pythonwin32. it turns out error result caused exception being thrown , python script dying off.
