svn - How can you be confident that Subversion's automatic merges don't introduce logical conflicts? -

svn update automatic merges when thinks can. shouldn't there pre-requisite or something? if work in organization unit/regression tests during qa testing, how on earth can confident merge did not create insidious bug?

in experience conflcts hapen more documentation says. easy solve must solved.
